What do i mean by…

MINDFULNESS: “An operational working definition of mindfulness is: the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment to moment.” - Jon Kabat-Zinn (Mindfulness-based Interventions in Context, 2003)

SPIRITUALITY: “Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us, and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion. Practicing spirituality brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.” - Brené Brown (The Gifts of Imperfection, 2010).

To schedule an initial appointment, please call (206) 686-9441 or fill out the Contact Me form. I return calls between appointments, at the end of the day, or the morning of the following business day.

I am an individual psychotherapy practitioner in private practice and not a crisis specialist; I provide counseling services in an outpatient format. Should we speak and determine that more comprehensive services are a better fit, I'm happy to provide referrals specific to your needs.

I provide clients with access to a secure, client portal through my electronic health record system. Here you will have private access to your documentation, which includes your signed treatment forms, policy and privacy information, invoices for services, and more.

Please contact me if you are a client and wish to regain access to your portal.

Payment & Insurance

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. I am an out-of-network provider and upon request, I am happy to provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company. Please contact your provider to learn if you are eligible for reimbursement and to clarify the degree and nature of your coverage for mental health services under your specific plan. It is your responsibility to verify your benefit coverage for mental health services.

Initial appointment - $160.00
60-minute appointment - $120.00
90-minute appointment - $160.00

Running late & Cancellations

I respectfully ask that if you are running late for an appointment, please call or email me to let me know. We will meet for the time remaining in your session or, should you be 20-minutes late or more, we can explore rescheduling you within the same work-week.

I require at least 24-hours notice if you will not be able to make our scheduled time. If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice you will be charged in full, or where possible, we can explore rescheduling you within the same work week to avoid the cancellation fee. Payment for late cancellations is due prior to booking our next session. If you have questions about this policy please bring them to your first session for clarification.

Testimonials from colleagues

“Working with Mary Anne was an absolute joy. She brings a kind presence, deep wisdom and positive energy to wherever she is participating. She rigorously researched the topic (which was confidence) and thoughtfully planned the discussion to ensure participation and movement. During her presentation she sourced a wide array of knowledge - from inspiring poems to cross-cultural wisdom, from psycho-social dynamics to dancing. Having Mary Anne join us added a special quality of thought-provoking insight and abundant acceptance.”

- Alex Strazzanti, MSW; Days of Exploration

"When Mary Anne came to speak about therapy to our coaches' training program (Accomplishment Coaching Seattle), she was well-prepared, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. But what really drew her audience to her was her being -- her heart, her grace, her power, her curiosity, and her playfulness. She filled the room with her authenticity and the class couldn't help but meet her with theirs. Mary Anne, thank you for your commitment to excellence in your work! It was a joy to collaborate with you and I look forward to the next opportunity to do so."
